Before you read the rest of this story, I will tell that this story is a good news of mine.
So if you are not interest with this, you can skip.
So...
I was shocked, surprised, happy, excited but most of all, COULD NOT BELIEVE IT!
Alhamdulillah.. All praises due to Allah.
Yet, there was a problem surfaced. If I could not attend on June 4, I will not get the scholarship.
My position: Until that time, I did not tell my parents I joined those scholarship yet I already told them that I was in Thailand. I already bought a ticket to go back on June 5. DIE!
Options: Go back earlier on June 3 and joined that event on June 4 or asking the committees if I could join after that date.
Problem arose: I did not know the phone number of the committees.
Solutions: I have to find it!
Long story short, I searched the committees number through many ways, asking my friends, emailing contacts of Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia and etc. Alhamdulillah again, Allah gave me a way through Pak Tafip to call Pak Musa. Thank you Maulida for giving me Pak Tavip's number and to Pak Tafip to give me Pak Musa's cellphone number.
Thank you too for Pak Musa, for giving me a chance to join the event in Jakarta on June 7, 2018.
About the way to go there, I told my parents about it. They shocked but help me on the tickets to go there. Hehehe..
You might ask, why I did not tell my parents? I do not know, sometimes I think if I tell them, they kind of restrict my movement while what I want is to be free. Free to do everything But maybe, it is because they worry much about me. Hehehe..
Lesson learnt too, do not hide everything from your parents, they permission is like a BIGGEST MIRACLE. That's all.
FYI, Beasiswa Unggulan usually open every March and July or August. It has 2 batches. I joined the 1st Batch. For more information about that scholarship like requirements and etc, you could find it by click this link.
THE STORY PROCESS
So, when it was in the end of March, there was a news about a scholarship named Beasiswa Unggulan. I tried to apply again after the failure I tasted before. So, that time was my second chance to join and I have to prepare better. Heavy, my best friend who truly support me to join again. So, last batch, I applied it with her but only her who got it while I was not. In the middle of my midterm test, I did it.
There was a time, I got a message that I passed the administration process and I could join the interview session. Unless like previous year, this time it was held in Surabaya not in Malang. My position is, I did not tell my parents that I followed this scholarship process. Then I made a plan to go to that place on Sunday morning or afternoon, then back in the morning because I still have a last class of statistics. Bravely travel alone to Surabaya and it was my first time travel alone to Surabaya.
Long story short, I prepared all the documents needed. Rather went in the morning, I decided to go to Surabaya on Sunday afternoon because I still have unfinished things in Malang. I went alone to Surabaya using busway and stayed in Heavy's boarding house. In this place, I want to say thank you so much Lay, for everything you have done and helped me. You are the one who truly believe in me and encourage me!
You know, the time when I traveled to Surabaya, there was a viral bomb case happened in Surabaya in the morning. Yet, I still go. The situation in Surabaya was super quiet that time. I saw the shopping centre did not operate. Unusual. Again, I did not tell my parents if I went to Surabaya because they would freak out. Hehe
So, when it came to the interview session, Alhamdulillah, learnt from the last event, I prepared all my documents well, coming wayyy earlieeeer. For the verification, I arranged all the files to make them easy to see it. I met my friend's, Kak Mei, little sister, Anne. We got the same interview table. However, after that my name was firstly called by them. My interviewer only asked me about my activities. He asked a lot about my organizations stuffs and my achievements. A little bit nervous at first, but it became relax after. It was just talking with a stranger and share your activities to them. Hehe.. I make sure to make an eye contact, because sometimes I cannot stay longer to see someone's eyes. Amanda also ever told me about those habit of mine actually when I had never been realized for a long time. Thanks Ney for the feedback. Sometimes I understand, you do not look not because you are arrogant but in my case, it because I am shy. "Whatsoever, It is important to talk and look into their (someone you talked's) eyes, because it is one of the sign that you respect them", Amanda said.
All in all, it went well. When the interviewer said, "okay that's all". I was just like, "really?". Due that time, I think it was super quick kind of interview. haha.. After that, I am going back. Well the point is, I took a bus to go back to Malang and traffic killed me. I dropped in Singosari, my phone was lowbat and I could not have gojek, so that is why, I asked Ida to order a Gojek! After approximately an hour of waiting, my gojek driver came and I went to campus. It was right at 2 pm when I arrived. I left an hour of the class session. Lucky me I already texted my lecturer that I will come late. However, when I arrived, a final exam questions had already welcomed me! That's how I ended up my interview journey. Full of drama, but it is worth.
I mean like, you might find obstacles on achieving something, but I always believe that RESULT WILL NEVER BETRAY ITS PROCESS.
Malang, June 10, 2018.
For every scholarship hunters,
Keep fighting. SELAMAT BERJUANG TEMAN-TEMAN!!!
Fighting Regards,
-Nessy
